Gabriel Agbonlahor

Gabriel Agbonlahor quick Biog

Gabriel Agbonlahor was born 13th October 1986 in Erdington,Birmingham.Agbonlahor is the latest in Villa's production line of fine young local talent.Agbonlahor first came to the attention of the fans as a prolific goalscorer in the youth team. David O'Leary saw so much potential in him that he said 'there was no point in him scoring 4 to 5 every week in the youths games' so he was then promoted to the reserves before his time, where he continued with his impressive goalscoring. He was then loaned out to Watford & Sheffield Wednesday to gain experience at the start of the 05/06 season. He didn't score in 7 appearances but O'Leary saw enough to warrant Agbonlahor a place on the bench for the latter stages of Villa's campaign.

He made a goalscoring debut for the Villa against Everton in a 4-1 defeat, and was very impressive in pre-season for the 06/07 campaign after O'Leary left the club. So much so that he became an ever present in Martin O'Neill's Villa team that season, albeit as a makeshift right winger, and looks to have a very bright future at the club.

He is lightening quick and seems to have an uncanny nack of finding the target. He is generally regarded as one of the fastest players in the Premier League. How far he can go in the game is up to him. His close control can still be a bit suspect and he can have trouble keeping the ball when running at full pelt, but this will come, and with accomplished colleagues such as John Carew and previously Juan Pablo Angel, Milan Baros, Kevin Phillips & of course Martin O'Neill all imparting knowledge on the youngster, he can't help but progress in leaps and bounds.

Agbonlahor was Villa's 2nd top scorer in 07/08 with 11 league goals, but the first was Carew with 13 goals,Also he has now broken into the full England squad on the back of his explosive performances up front for Villa in the past 2 years. Such is his growing reputation within the game that it is likely the top 4 will be sniffing around him if Villa do not progress in the same way that he does in the coming years, which am hopin they don' come in for him.

Professionalism

The player i have decided to do professionalism on in the Aston Villa football squad is Gabriel Agbonlahor.I was originally going to do Ashley Young but as Agbonlahor is a home grown player i thought it would be more interesting to do research on.
